Do you enjoy playing sport, socializing & meeting new people in friendly surroundings? If you do then Linden Bowling Club is the place for you.
The club was founded 60 years ago and is one of the leading bowls clubs in Johannesburg and is located at the end of third street Linden. The clubhouse offers magnificent views and sunsets and overlooks two championship greens and boasts a number of outstanding bowlers. Our well stocked bar is open every day, except for Monday. Club members and their guests participate in numerous social activities such as quiz evenings, fun days, bring and braais, tournaments, etc. We provide regular coaching by registered bowls coaches and bowls are provided for these sessions. We also host a"New Bowlers Workshop".
We are the friendly club, we are competitive and we have fun.
Hall Hire
Our spacious hall, fully equipped kitchen and braai area is available for hire at reasonable prices and is used for functions such as weddings, birthdays, corporate days and team building. We offer secure parking. We also have a caterer on the premises.
Community Outreach
Casa Do Sol school for disabled children - The club avails its facilities at no cost and members volunteer every Friday morning to provide valuable recreational/sporting activities to disabled children from all social backgrounds.
The club holds numerous fundraisers for various cancer charities.
The club avails itself at no cost to all political parties as a suitable venue for regular committee meetings, as well as various residents associations and the Northcliff Lions Club.
The club is home to the Linden Runners.
Environmental Sustainability
We have installed a borehole to water our greens and in so doing to lessen the burden on the municipal drinking water supply for the local residents consumption.
The borehole is solar powered - green energy, thus reducing the clubs carbon footprint.
We have recycling containers, that local residents can use to lessen adverse waste landfill sites have on the environment.
